Strong Students. Strong Community.
Schools are a place to learn. We want students to learn to read and write in Arabic and English. We want them to be able to solve math problems and be able to conduct science experiments. We want them to be critical and creative thinkers. And we want them to do it with a purpose.
Strong education's purpose is to serve the community. Students who have a strong academic background are prepared to participate and contribute to their families, neighborhoods, their country, and the world. That may be through being an excellent engineer and building roads. Or running a business that provides jobs and goods and services that people want. Education has a purpose, but it is guided by a philosophy.
Strong community is taught. We all need practice looking out for each others needs. We all need to learn to work with people with whom we disagree. We all need to learn to be ready and willing to serve one another.
Strong community is demonstrated. Everyone at Al Raja believes that it is important for all staff and parents to demonstrate what living together and loving is all about. When students see this modeled, they will see what it means to participate and work out differences. By doing this, we contribute an essential element to strong students, who can go out and help build strong communities.
