Lower & Upper Elementary

Welcome

Welcome to Al Raja School! In the elementary section, we aim to provide a caring and supportive environment where all students belong and have an opportunity to learn and grow. Our values shape what we do inside and outside the classroom. Students are seen, nurtured, and challenged to develop in all areas. We would love to have you be part of our community!

Lower Elementary (KG 1 – Grade 2)

The primary objective of the lower elementary section is to establish a robust educational foundation for students. Instruction is predominantly conducted in Arabic, complemented by additional lessons in English aimed at fostering basic literacy skills in both languages.

The KG – Grade 2 students of the Lower Elementary section engage in learning through various centers, play-based activities, and hands-on experiences within the classroom setting. This interactive learning approach effectively promotes physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.

Furthermore, the formal curriculum is enriched by a diverse array of extracurricular activities, allowing students to benefit from a safe and supportive environment that prioritizes growth and personal development, all under the guidance of dedicated and nurturing staff.

Upper Elementary (Grades 3 – 5)

In the Upper Elementary section, Grade 3 – 5 learners assume greater responsibility for their educational journey and have the opportunity to develop leadership skills.

Beginning in Grade 3, English serves as the primary medium of instruction, while there remains a sustained emphasis on Arabic language acquisition and Islamic Studies, in accordance with the requirements set forth by the Bahrain Ministry of Education. Regularly integrated projects and inquiry-based activities are designed to promote creativity and enhance critical thinking skills.

In addition, weekly extracurricular classes provide students with the opportunity to explore diverse areas of interest, including STEAM activities, project-based learning, drama, public speaking, and coding. These classes, as well as field trips throughout the year, are instrumental in enhancing engagement and development in areas that extend beyond the formal curriculum.
